Re: Mitchell 205 R

Gajus75, I’m not going to try and say I have the answer but I have some thoughts on what I have picked up and can deduce. Basically it was too little too late. Mitchell seemed to lack the drive to improve as it had been on top for so long. By the time Panavision got going, they came up with a better...

Re: 3Dmodel

Zemke, wonderful, yes I would love the file to print on my brand new 3D printer! Yes of course, if you supply the file, I’ll send you a model. We can talk about details later. I may not be able to get to the measurements til next week, but I will. Very cool project. The camera I own is a Mitchell “S...

Re: 3Dmodel

Very Nice Zemke! Are you a character animator? I’ve got a Mitchell Standard but it’s packed away but I’ll try to get to it and give you measurements. I’m working on a 3D model of the BNC, the large iconic Hollywood Camera used for sound filming. I want to print it out on my 3D printer. Cheers, Mark

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history

Hello, This is a “Blimp” for a 16mm Mitchel movie camera. In case you don’t know what a blimp is, it’s a sound reducing camera housing for use during sound recording so the sound of the camera running is not recorded. I’m not aware of any particular models of these and there probably was only one, w...

Re: BNCR Serial Number on movement and blimp?

Greg, your welcome. It's a fun and interesting hobby. I bought my BNCR from Martin Hill and it was originally owned by Paramount. I'm not sure if Ken Stone (Stone Cinema) still has a blimp or not. He calls them prop cameras. The last compllete BNCR (also Paramount) that sold on eBay, that i know of,...

Re: BNCR Serial Number on movement and blimp?

Hello Greg, Good question. I have seen numbers on the blimp that appear to have been cast in. The moderators Camera, you should be able to find photos somewhere on the site, should show this. His is an older camera. I believe it was in the back of the camera along the bottom? I just checked my camer...

Re: Mitchell goes to war

I would agree with Ed as it being a "Standard", although I rarely disagree with him! I could add that the US Military was the largest single purchaser of Mitchell cameras. They used the cameras for many different purposes, from filming tests (like the Atomic Bomb testing) to making trainin...

Re: Help- No 112?

Hello,

A question here, does the piece have springs and can part of it push down? It sort of looks like a matte cutter but I'm not certain from the pictures.
