Re: I need your help

Steffens, I am going to change that last answer about the silent camera. Upon further review and looking at both of my cameras at about the same angle and comparing the L bases between the GC and NC, I have to place the camera as a GC and possibly high speed up to 120 FPS. The plaque on the camera d...

Re: I need your help

Gee, don't check in for a whole day and excitement ensues... Steffen. Thanks for joining in. The Broccoli organization does not have call sheets? Does small #3 have enough detail on the original to see the badge better? If not, based on the fact the setup includes the sidefinder flip up, the follow ...

Blueimperio,

By the way, your camera was not an industrial camera.

Re: NC #683 is repatriated back from France to the USA

Blueimperio, Yes, we have the full records for NC's and most all Mitchell cameras here. You are correct with the 1960 date. When you register your camera with us, we will provide that information in the form of a registration certificate. You can access the registration page from the front page of t...

Re: My pride and joy is Mitchell BNCR #198

Hi Wilderieds,

#198 is a converted fully functioning BNCR from a BNC. Which would mean the outer door was modified, the inner door also changed to reflex and the rackover was removed.

Re: Mitchell S12 Magazine

John, The 4 &10 designations do ring true. The only 1200 ft mags I have seen are for 16mm film as that is a regular size. There are a few NC 2000 ft mags made that appear to be 3piece speciality units. That would give almost 20 minutes running time but would require takeup torque motors. 35mm standa...

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history

Jason, You have an odd mashup of parts. The wood sticks are pre 1930. The head is post 1946. The 20th Century Fox knobs on the tripod are add-ons most probably from some other piece of equipment as Zanuck did not take over Fox until 1935 and branded parts were probably a few years away from that. Th...

Re: JUST PURCHASED A MITCHELL NC???

Chris,

The camera door is not an accessory. It is a basic part of the camera rackover design and one of the top reasons the Mitchell camera became the premier motion picture camera over the Bell&Howell 2709.

Re: JUST PURCHASED A MITCHELL NC???

Just saw you posted the badge from the motor door on sunday. That is 4 for 4. Cannot get better than that!

Here is some more information about the hi speed motor door from the 1934 catalog.

Note the prices in 1934 $$:
