Yes on the Mk1& 2's. Both were designed for the NC mags which were thicker for sound usage. NC mags come only in 1K size because of sound. On the bench currently is BNC305 which was converted to an Nc-R at some point. I am in the process of taking it back to its original configuration (parts willing). No. Crosshairs are engraved on the center of the finder ground glass. The adjustable framing ribbon are different.

In Both the 16mm and the 35mm finders the ribbons go edge to edge from center in horizontal and vertical.

Focus does not matter much how the image appears. It would still be looking at a squeezed image that is still in or out of focus.
