Re: Mitchell std vs 2709 lens mounts
Hello Partrick, although both Mitchell and B&H 2709 have 4 mounting holes (by the way Mitchell 16mm lenses have 3 holes) they are a different circumference. So, they are not interchangeable. Also 2709 lenses have the little partial circle cut-out to allow it to fit on the turret as it gives room for...

Re: The Mitchell Camera Story - 1968 A.C. Reprint
Scott, looks great. I bought several cameras from Martin Hill and he became a friend. O certainly miss him. I can't really tell but is this just the outer Blimp? In other words is there a camera inside? The number you gave is a serial nu.ber to the lens shade and likely is not the same as the main h...

Re: The Mitchell Camera Story - 1968 A.C. Reprint
Hi Scott, The short answer to your question is “sometimes” you can find out what your Mitchell Camera filmed. There is no central depository for this information and if you find information like this, it is spotty at best. I have spent countless hours searching for information on my cameras and have...

Re: Battery for Mitchell 16mm?
Hello mbillyou,
I have to assume that Mitchell had a battery. They had an ac/dc motor for their 35mm cameras and their 16mm were used for news. I have not seen a Mitchell made battery but any should work. The photo you show looks like it’s an Auricon 16mm camera.

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
Lilybettina, I just checked and I have nothing on 146 (either a Standard or NC). Do you know the original owner of your camera? You can find out through this website by Registering your camera for a small fee. The fee helps maintain this website. If you do register your camera, you will need to send...

Re: Mitchell Cameras; ownership history
...also it’s now certain this is actually your camera as it’s not only a Warner Brothers film (original owner of BNC10), but it was filmed in England!
