Mitchell Standard #414 for SALE (SOLD)

Post by xlntpix » Sat Nov 19, 2016 10:50 am

Hi,

I have a Mitchell camera (#414), in good running condition for sale.

Package includes: Camera body, 2x 400' magazines, 1x 1000' magazine, parallax finder, matte box, variable speed motor, stepper motor.
Viewfinder had registration pins added for clip alignment.
A Nikon F and Pentax m42 mount on the turret.
This camera was used extensively for photographic effects work in the 1980s.

It shot elements and plates for such films as SOLARBABIES, 2010, GHOSTBUSTERS, CRITTERS, TWILIGHT ZONE (tv series) plus many more and commercials too numerous to recall.

Photos can be supplied on request.

Anyone interested can call me at: 626-354-6200 or email: xlntpix@gmail.com

Thank you!

No, the camera has mattes (top, bottom and sides) and an iris with x/y positioning.

As of this date, 12/5/2016, the camera is SOLD.

Thank you,
LB

Danita,

If you are looking to buy a Mitchell, be advised they are getting to be pricey especially with lenses and accessorues.
If or when you find one, always ask for the serial number and look it up on our serial number chart. These cameras may look old but the basic design was still the same into the 1970's. Also, over 70% of them were never Hollywood cameras but were high speed ballistic research cameras. It is estimated that only half of the 1,473 Standards produced have survived.
For example, number 414 was built in 1941 and most certainly a military camera. There are a number of people out there claiming these are all much older than they are and basing their provenance on faulty research.

Good luck in your search. If you do purchase one, please take the time to register it with us here: http://mitchellcamera.com/registration.html
